EducAItion Workshop in Dublin with Insight into Microsoft’s Dream Space

09. Oct. 2025

On October 7–8, 2025, Dr. Shahrokh MirzaHosseini participated in the third EducAItion Workshop in Dublin, organized by the European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE).

This major European initiative brought together policymakers, educators, and AI experts to address how artificial intelligence can transform learning and teaching. As a FEDE delegate, Dr. MirzaHosseini contributed to discussions shaping Europe’s educational future — particularly in three key areas:

  • Integrating AI tools into schools and higher education institutions
  • Supporting and training teachers to use AI confidently
  • Promoting AI literacy to ensure the safe and sustainable use of emerging technologies

Main Discussion Topics

Participants explored pressing issues and shared experiences from across Europe, focusing on:

  • AI policy in the making
  • AI literacy and its classroom applications
  • Research and evidence on AI in education
  • Creating blueprints for EdTech–school collaboration
  • Sharing good practices between European institutions
  • Co-developing policy recommendations for the digital future of education

Highlight: Microsoft’s Dream Space Project

A key highlight of the program was an exclusive visit to Microsoft’s Dream Space, a pioneering model for AI-integrated education — comparable to Hungary’s Logiscool initiative, now serving as a model for AI education in Hungarian schools.

Dream Space provides immersive, research-based STEM learning experiences, also in disciplines such as Geography, Visual Arts, and Physical Education. Students work hands-on with tools like micro:bits, Minecraft Education Edition, and various AI technologies.

The program focuses not only on digital competence but also on essential social-emotional skills such as creativity, empathy, ethical decision-making, and teamwork.

In particular, the objectives of the Dream Space project are to:

  • Inspire interest in STEM subjects among young learners while breaking gender and social stereotypes
  • Prepare students for future STEM careers by developing computational thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Support teachers through professional development, resources, and confidence-building training
  • Create inclusive, tech-enabled learning environments that extend beyond traditional classrooms
  • Build a pipeline of skilled, tech-savvy young professionals, and thus improve digital literacy rates in the wider communities of Europe

These objectives align closely with AIC’s vision for future-oriented, AI-supported education, and the outcomes of the EducAItion workshop will surely be channeled into the school’s emerging AI-integrated education model.
