FEDE annual General Assembly for the first time in Hungary

The FEDE General Assembly 2025 was held for the first time in Budapest on April 9–10, marking a significant milestone for European and global education. The event brought together representatives from over 43 countries and 500 educational institutions, under the umbrella of FEDE (Federation for European Education), an international organization with key strategic partnerships with the Council of Europe and UNESCO.

This year’s assembly was co-organized by Avicenna International College (AIC), with Dr. Shahrokh MirzaHosseini, President of AIC / AISAC and member of the FEDE Steering Committee playing a leading role in coordinating the event’s academic and cultural programs. By bringing the General Assembly to Budapest, AIC created a dynamic platform for networking and educational innovation, embracing high ranking politicians, like Ms. Márta Mátrai (First Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly) and attracting key stakeholders including Mr. Rodrigo Ballester (Ministerial Commissioner, Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation), and the rectors, leading officials of several Hungarian universities and colleges.

In addition to hosting FEDE’s annual General Assembly meeting, the event featured two major highlights: the awarding of the FEDE Human Rights Prize and the thought-provoking ‘AI in Education’ workshop.

AIC made a powerful impact by presenting three pioneering projects:

  1. A FEDE-approved teacher training program—a set of five short courses designed to empower educators to integrate AI technologies into their classrooms.

  2. A newly developed MBA program featuring a fully AI-centered curriculum, blending management training with AI literacy and future-ready skills.

  3. The upcoming launch of the AISAC Online Education Center, which will offer collaborative online and hybrid programs in partnership with Hungarian higher education institutions.

The event emphasized the importance of AI-focused education, digital transformation, and international student mobility. It also reaffirmed FEDE’s and AIC’s shared commitment to strengthening the foundations of 21st-century education through innovation, inclusivity, and strategic cooperation.
